Villas: Several with mosaics including Keston and Orpington (Crofton).

Burials: Found near the villas and settlements.

The Cray Valley provided good soil for farming, making it a good place to settle. The borough has evidence for a number of villas, farmsteads (Downe) and settlements, some with bath-houses (Poverest Road, St Mary Cray).
